Summer days are an ideal way to accomplish various internal communication goals. We strongly recommend your company to organise some sort of event once a year (summer days are a popular choice) so that your employees could relax, enjoy themselves, do sports and have fun outside their usual office environment.
You should start arranging the summer days a year before they are supposed to take place. Especially, if your team is over 100 strong. Many popular tourist venues are booked almost twelve months in advance so it may well happen that by the beginning of winter the place your have selected is no longer available.
Generally, summer days are of two types:
1) active summer days – the programme is composed of different activities (not necessarily entirely sports-related) and some entertainment in the evening with various acknowledgements, etc.
2) collective information day in the form of a seminar – the programme may include training sessions (incl. team building), discussions, goal setting and presentation of new opportunities and targets.
All of this can be integrated within reasonable limits, but you will have to put it down on paper together with the events marketing agency. Two heads are better than one.
